
Spiced apple compote

Ingredients

- 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored
- 1 lemon, rind and 1 tablespoon juice
- 2 cups water
- ⅓ cup brown sugarlight brown cane sugarX
- 3 cinnamon quills
- ¼ teaspoon ground all spice
Instructions
1 Cut each apple into 8 wedges.
2 Place all remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Stir over a medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.
3 Add apple. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until tender. Serve hot.
